As all you witness, Super Typhoon Yolanda hits the Philippines that leaves many casualties. Many homes, buildings and lives was destroyed by Yolanda, though people are aware to the typhoon. We still have many casualties.

Today many people are still seeking for help in Tacloban Leyte and the other areas that been also affected. It is just sad to realize that our government doesn't have the capacity to give immediate responds to the victims.
We already see what happen to them it is enough to give mercy on them. All they need was our help. Please help in anyway that you can.  It is time for walk to help them.

I still want to give thanks for the countries that give their help in donation and in kind. We really appreciate your help.

Prayers and love are all with you

I can feel the presence of the ghost around the office hahaha. Sorry if I can't show you some photos of it' :( Some of my colleagues are really excited about the Halloween party but sadly my team doesn't.
It just that the leader it self doesn't interested to cooperate. I am just disappointed to her. She always say that I am the representative in our team, but it is really fake.
Haha..
Bitter?
No' not at all.
I just get to use her attitude.

Anyway, Wish all of you can have a happy experience to your Halloween Celebration'

I will share some photos of my Halloween workstation design soon.

Just check it out..

Please read this and pass the info along to your family members; it could save their lives someday!

EXTRACT FROM DOUG COPP'S ARTICLE ON THE: "TRIANGLE OF LIFE"

My name is Doug Copp. I am the Rescue Chief and Disaster Manager of the American Rescue Team International (ARTI), the world's most experienced rescue team. The information in this article will save lives in an earthquake.

I have crawled inside 875 collapsed buildings, worked with rescue teams from 60 countries, founded rescue teams in several countries, and I am a member of many rescue teams from many countries.

I was the United Nations expert in Disaster Mitigation for two years. I have worked at every major disaster in the world since 1985, except for simultaneous disasters.

The first building I ever crawled inside of was a school in Mexico City during the 1985 earthquake. Every child was under its desk. Every child was crushed to the thickness of their bones. They could have survived by lying down next to their desks in the aisles. It was obscene, unnecessary and I wondered why the children were not in the aisles. I didn't at the time know that the children were told to hide under something.

Simply stated, when buildings collapse, the weight of the ceilings falling upon the objects or furniture inside crushes these objects, leaving a space or void next to them. This space is what I call the "triangle of life". The larger the object, the stronger, the less it will compact. The less the object compacts, the larger the void, the greater the probability that the person who is using this void for safety will not be injured. The next time you watch collapsed buildings, on television, count the "triangles" you see formed. They are everywhere. It is the most common shape, you will see, in a collapsed building.

TIPS FOR EARTHQUAKE SAFETY

1) Most everyone who simply "ducks and covers" WHEN BUILDINGS COLLAPSE are crushed to death. People who get under objects, like desks or cars, are crushed.

2) Cats, dogs and babies often naturally curl up in the fetal position.
You should too in an earthquake. It is a natural safety/survival instinct. You can survive in a smaller void. Get next to an object, next to a sofa, next to a large bulky object that will compress slightly but leave a void next to it.

3) Wooden buildings are the safest type of construction to be in during an earthquake. Wood is flexible and moves with the force of the earthquake. If the wooden building does collapse, large survival voids are created. Also, the wooden building has less concentrated, crushing weight. Brick buildings will break into individual bricks. Bricks will cause many injuries but less squashed bodies than concrete slabs.

4) If you are in bed during the night and an earthquake occurs, simply roll off the bed. A safe void will exist around the bed. Hotels can achieve a much greater survival rate in earthquakes, simply by posting a sign on The back of the door of every room telling occupants to lie down on the floor, next to the bottom of the bed during an earthquake.

5) If an earthquake happens and you cannot easily escape by getting out the door or window, then lie down and curl up in the fetal position next to a sofa, or large chair.

6) Most everyone who gets under a doorway when buildings collapse is killed. How? If you stand under a doorway and the doorjamb falls forward or backward you will be crushed by the ceiling above. If the door jam falls sideways you will be cut in half by the doorway. In either case, you will be killed!

7) Never go to the stairs. The stairs have a different "moment of frequency" (they swing separately from the main part of the building). The stairs and remainder of the building continuously bump into each other until structural failure of the stairs takes place. The people who get on stairs before they fail are chopped up by the stair treads - horribly mutilated. Even if the building doesn't collapse, stay away from the stairs. The stairs are a likely part of the building to be damaged. Even if the stairs are not collapsed by the earthquake, they may collapse later when overloaded by fleeing people. They should always be checked for safety, even when the rest of the building is not damaged.

Get Near the Outer Walls Of Buildings Or Outside Of Them If Possible - It is much better to be near the outside of the building rather than the interior. The farther inside you are from the outside perimeter of the building the greater the probability that your escape route will be blocked.

9) People inside of their vehicles are crushed when the road above falls in an earthquake and crushes their vehicles; which is exactly what happened with the slabs between the decks of the Nimitz Freeway. The victims of the San Franciscoearthquake all stayed inside of their vehicles. They were all killed. They could have easily survived by getting out and sitting or lying next to their vehicles. Everyone killed would have survived if they had been able to get out of their cars and sit or lie next to them. All the crushed cars had voids 3 feet high next to them, except for the cars that had columns fall directly across them.

10) I discovered, while crawling inside of collapsed newspaper offices and other offices with a lot of paper, that paper does not compact. Large voids are found surrounding stacks of paper.

Spread the word and save someone's life... The Entire world is experiencing natural calamities so be prepared!

"We are but angels with one wing, it takes two to fly"

In 1996 we made a film, which proved my survival methodology to be correct. The Turkish Federal Government, City ofIstanbul , University of Istanbul Case Productions and ARTI cooperated to film this practical, scientific test. We collapsed a school and a home with 20 mannequins inside. Ten mannequins did "duck and cover," and ten mannequins I used in my"triangle of life" survival method. After the simulated earthquake collapse we crawled through the rubble and entered the building to film and document the results. The film, in which I practiced my survival techniques under directly observable, scientific conditions, relevant to building collapse, showed there would have been zero percent survival for those doing duck and cover.

There would likely have been 100 percent survivability for people using my method of the "triangle of life." This film has been seen by millions of viewers on television in Turkey and the rest of Europe , and it was seen in the USA , Canada andLatin America on the TV program Real TV.

October 15, 2013 Tuesday magnitude-7.1 earthquake struck the central Philippines. The earthquake severely damaged parts of Bohol Island and Cebu Island to the north. Ports, schools and airports reported damage, and a hospital collapsed on Bohol in Loon.

Let's pray for the affected people in that place.
We wish for more donation for them.

MAKATI REROUTES TRAFFIC FOR ANTI-PORK MARCH AT AYALA ON FRIDAY

Posted by ayawngboring | File under :
Organizers behind the social media-driven “Million People March” are taking the mass movement against the pork barrel system to the next level on Oct. 4 — right at the heart of the country’s financial district.

Individuals and organizations behind the previous protest actions against the pork barrel will join forces in a gathering at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas in Makati City starting 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday.

“We are inviting everyone to join us again, this time at Ayala Avenue, as this is a continuing movement to scrap the pork barrel,” Peachy Rallonza-Bretaña said at a press briefing by organizers of the Million People March at the Luneta Park in Manila on Aug. 26 and the Edsa Tayo rally at the Edsa Shrine on Sept. 11.

Amid the public outrage, President Aquino and Congress have scrapped the Priority Development Assistance Fund, a lump-sum allocation for lawmakers and a source of kickbacks, in the 2014 budget but kept the pork barrel system. Lawmakers could recommend infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, classrooms, multipurpose buildings and water supply systems.

Various groups, including #AbolishPork Network led by Archbishop Oscar Cruz, Concerned Citizens Movement led by Harry Roque, religious organizations like the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches, Babala led by Monique Wilson and militant organizations like Bayan and Sanlakas, announced that the rally in Makati was all set.

Bretaña said organizers expected the protest action on Oct. 4 to be unique and bigger because more employees and workers would likely join.
“Our message stays the same. But now, we are inviting our businessmen and corporate leaders in Ayala to end their fence-sitting and join the people in the call to abolish the pork barrel,” Bretaña said.

Roque appealed to the businessmen in the country to allow their employees to leave their work stations earlier than 5 p.m.
“We have also sent a letter to the officers of the Makati Business Club asking them to join us in the rally,” he said.

The organizers have also asked permission from the Makati city government to have portions of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas closed during the rally.
“The reason why we are stepping this up is to bring a united mass pressure, a mass movement that can change this broken system,” Rasti Delizo of Sanlakas said.
The program, which would include songs, performances and speeches, will start at 5:30 p.m. on Ayala Avenue.

Patricia Tan, one of the organizers of the Million People March, said politicians would again be barred from taking the stage but would be welcome to attend the rally.
Organizers called the series of protests as a “saga” that would only end if the calls were heard.
“Maybe (on Oct. 4, the government) will hear this growing clamor for change. What we have now is a leaking, bleeding system,” Bretaña said.

An online post on Facebook drew 100,000 people to march to Luneta on Aug. 26 to protest the misuse of the pork barrel funds and call for its abolition. It was followed by pockets of protests held elsewhere.

In Bacolod City, a rally against pork barrel is scheduled for Oct. 14.
Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra is calling on Catholics in the Diocese of Bacolod to join the rally at the Bacolod public plaza.

The rally would also push for the protection of human life, promotion of good governance and the abolition of the pork barrel fund.

In a circular, the bishop also advised all priests in the diocese to focus on the issue of the pork barrel scam in their homilies during Masses on three successive Sundays — Sept. 29, Oct. 6 and 13.
The aim of the homilies would be to educate, enlighten and awaken the faithful, he said.

“The glaring reason for the many social ills that beset our country today is the deeply embedded culture of corruption” the bishop noted in his circular. “This is the bitter fruit of our collective indifference and permissiveness.”

The rally will start with a march at 1 p.m. from the Capitol Lagoon Park, Lupit Church and West Negros University in Bacolod City, according to Cruz.

Why is it called Hummingbird?

Google told us the name come from being “precise and fast.”

"Hummingbird" is the company's effort to match the meaning of queries with that of documents on the Internet, said Singhal from the Menlo Park garage where Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin conceived their now-ubiquitous search engine.

"Remember what it was like to search in 1998? You'd sit down and boot up your bulky computer, dial up on your squawky modem, type in some keywords, and get 10 blue links to websites that had those words," Singhal wrote in a separate blogpost.

"The world has changed so much since then: billions of people have come online, the Web has grown exponentially, and now you can ask any question on the powerful little device in your pocket."

Page and Brin set up shop in the garage of Susan Wojcicki -- now a senior Google executive -- in September 1998, around the time they incorporated their company. This week marks the 15th anniversary of their collaboration.

The Elevator
Gem is working as a nurse in a big hospital. during that time, gem was on a night shift, where hours would seem like eternity. To keep herself from falling asleep, she and her nurse friends would talk about a lot of things-especially ghost stories-to perk them up while doing their charting.

Then one night, the nurses got too busy to chat-someone died in the emergency room,a group of people were admitted due to a vehicular accident, another patient is in a critical condition. The nurses were prepared for such emergencies and were able to attend all those needing medical attention. Gem had to go to the pharmacy downstairs to get some medicine for her patient. She hurried to the nearby elevator to the ground floor. She was on the fourth floor.

Gem saw that there was already a man inside the elevator when she got in. She didn't know the guy, but she was happy that she had someone to ride the elevator with. As the elevator reached the second floor, the doors opened. They saw a little boy, about five years old, waiting to get inside the elevator. But before the boy could get in, Gem hurriedly closed the elevator doors and pressed again the ground floor button, leaving the boy behind.

The stranger was puzzled and asked gem why she did what she did. "why didn't you let the poor boy ride with us?" the man asked. "He looks like the boy who died here the other day. We tried to save him, but we couldn't. The second floor houses the pediatric ward and that's where the boy died," explained gem who was a bit winded.

"How can you be so sure that it was the same boy? Is it because he's wearing the same tag as mine?" the stranger asked as he raised his arm to show gem the hospital tag attached to his wrist. Gem was taken aback. She thought she was going to faint. She stared at the man this time, finally noticing that he was in a hospital gown. She suddenly recognized who the man was- he was the one who was in a critical condition an hour earlier, but died on the operating table.

The elevator doors opened as it reached the ground floor. Gem ran blindly away from the lift and never looked back. She got the medicines she needed and hurriedly went back to her patient. but this time, she didn't take the elevator. Instead, she took the stairs. Never again did she ride the elevator during night shifts.

Jeepney RiDe

It's funny when certain events in our lives occur and we blame it all to bad luck. What's funnier is the things that we do to counter the flow of bad energy that causes these so called bad luck or bad events. At least at that time I thought it was funny, until my friend shared her unlikely experience. jeepney This story is about my friend and her scary jeepney ride going home.

For those of you who don't know what jeepneys are, they are a popular means of public transportation in the Philippines. They were originally made from US military jeeps left over from World War II and are well known for their flamboyant decoration and crowded seating.

My friend went home late after finishing their school project, now since she lives within the vicinity of the U.P. Diliman campus (University of the Philippines) it was perfectly safe for her to take the jeepney instead of taking a taxi in going home during late hours. It was about midnight when she took the ride home, and she could not help but notice the driver kept glancing at her through his rear view mirror and then he would turn to her. (Now all jeepneys have their own route and do not take any turns and they have to stick to their route or else there is a big chance that they would run into some cop trouble).

What's odd about this jeepney ride besides the eerie glances that the driver gave from time to time, he was also taking turns in corners that he was not suppose to. Afraid of what the drivers plans are, she was even more afraid of her surroundings because it seemed as if she was in the middle of nowhere already. So instead of going down, she just stayed on the jeep. On the last turn that the driver made, she noticed that they were back on the route that they were suppose to be in the first place.

Before reaching the end of the terminal, the driver turned to my friend and said, "Im sorry if I scared you or startled you! It was not my intention".. "Could you do me a favor and BURN all your clothes when you get home".. Wondering why my friend asked why he was acting very strange. The driver explained, "The reason why I kept glancing was because your head was not attached to your body when I looked through my rear view mirror."

"That is why I changed my route awhile ago, hoping we could get away from the bad energy present in that area, and thats why I want you to BURN your clothes when you get home because I think its still with you." Upon arriving home, still shaking from fear, my friend took all her clothes off and burned them as quickly as she could. A few days later she found out on the news that the jeepney driver died a day after the incident. It turned out the warning was not for her but for the driver. *****
